Network Centric Operations Asia 2010

Network Centric Operations Asia 2010 is Asia’s largest gathering dedicated of senior military and national security personnel discussing the major challenges and technological advancements in the area of network centric operations.

Addressing the growing use of net centric capabilities not just in conventional warfare but in asymmetric warfare and civilian operations like disaster management, counter insurgency operations, crime and national security… the main objective of NCO Asia 2010 is to enable defence organisations to update their legacy networks or build new ones, optimise the use of COTS tools and understand the best possible applications to improve C2 and operational efficiency.

In 2009, NCO Asia hosted over 150 senior military officers and industry stakeholders in a smaller but intimate setting in Singapore. In 2009, the topics addressed included creating interoperability, building a robust command and control system, integrating communications for both military and civil defence applications and best practices for situational awareness.

In 2010, NCO Asia will look at:

  • Case studies for a variety of operations (from disaster management to high intensity warfare, counter-terrorism to anti crime)
  • International and regional case studies of operational networks… from India, United States, Thailand and Europe
  • Specialised stream on asymmetric warfare (AW) threats on day two
  • New! Focussed presentations on cyber security within the AW stream
  • New workshops on SOA, intra-organisational human interaction and interoperability best practices
  • Asia-specific requirements to be discussed to allow regional defence personnel to benchmark against capabilities and requirements
